Speech/Drama
Mr. Cary Rupe teaches the speech and drama class which is offered to rising seniors. In this class, students learn how to properly speak in front of an audience by performing several types of speeches throughout the year. Some of those speeches include the following: demonstraton, persuasive, expository, and informative. The students also practice duet acting, Shakespeare, and various monologues.
At the end of the year, the speech and drama class holds auditions for a school play. Students in 7th through 12th grades may audition; however, all students in speech and drama class will be required to have some part in the play, whether it be acting, make-up, lights, staging, or props.
Last spring, the class enjoyed performing a play called Kokonut High. The entire cast is pictured below.
